Humphrey Shearman, from Rhode Island, was a Revolutionary War soldier, pioneer settler, blacksmith, farmer, real estate entrepreneur, distiller and innkeeper in the Wayne County hamlet of East Palmyra, New York. He died in 1812. After his death Shearman's property was divided amongst his nine sons. Operated as a bed and breakfast for twenty five years. |
