In 1917, parishioners built a small church on Canandaigua St., using entirely their labor. In 1970 Rev. Hartung purchased the house north of the church which he used as a home for homeless, wayward teen boys who lived with him in a program called "Turning Point." The boys had to go to school during the week and to church on Sunday. People were afraid of the boys who sometimes sat on the roof, but they never got into trouble. Most of the boys turned their lives around. It was sold in the 1980s and is now a private home.
