Historic narrative:

The plaque reads:

This Building is Dedicated to Marcus E. Buckman as a Tribute  to his Service to this Company as a Member of the Board of Directors February 21, 1956  Rochester Gas and Electric Corporation

Marcus E. Buckman was a well known citizen of Sodus in the 1940s – 1960s. In addition to being on the RG&E Board of Directors, he was a fruit farmer,  a member of the Sodus Rotary Club,  he also served on the Wayne County Library System Board of Trustees, a Director of the Cooperative P&C Foods and served on the New York State Department of Health Pesticide Control Advisory Board.
