Historic narrative:
Pultneyville Schoolhouse
 Address: 4092 Lake Road, Pultneyville
Year Built: 1845
Period: Late

According to the Pultneyville Historical Society, the first school, a small crude building, was built on this site in 1808. It burned in 1816 and was replaced by a larger schoolhouse. The cobblestone building was built in 1845 and served as a school until 1943 when the Williamson School District centralized. It is now a private residence. Ivy, which partially concealed the building, is being removed. Notice the cobbles set at an angle. A metal bar circles the building as reinforcement — a modern addition.
