Description: |
Built by Ansel Gorham, carpenter/preacher, with the pulpit in front so that all could see those who came late. A bell was put in the steeple in 1861.The 1886 renovation removed the galleries on the sides, moved the pulpit to the back and added a kitchen and dining room.

Organized in in 1820, the congregation met in schoolhouses until the church was built in 1836. In 1886 the church was given a new entrance with asymmetrical steeples. In 1950 many of the church records were lost in a fire and Hurricane Hazel in 1954 destroyed the rest.
