Historic narrative: | |||||
"Mr. Smith Crane was a great Methodist man, a Justice of the Peace and a very commendable person. This lake stone was well built and beautiful. The large oblong fan in the front wing is artistic. The corners are of stone and the window sills are of wood. At the south was a lake stone wing but it was torn down and replaced by an ugly wood wing. Note the evenness of the lake stone in front of the house. This house is located on the Cory Corners Rd, one mile north of Marion village, Marion Twp. Wayne County, N. Y." **information from Mrs. H.T. Jeffery, Historian, Colonel William Prescott Chapter, D.A.R., Newark, NY 1940 |
