Well balanced two story structure of lake washed cobbles with a cobblestone kitchen wing. Limestone quoins over the windows and handsome Federal style eight paneled door. According to a survey by Dorothy Pease Wells, the barn on the property was faced with hamburger roll sized stones laid in a herringbone pattern. The barn is no longer standing. |

Built in 1840 for Samuel Barrett. His initials and date are cut into a stone laced high in the center front wall. Originally had stone quoins but some were removed and replaced with concrete blocks during a restoration by the Welches in the 1970's. The kitchen wing contains a fireplace. |
