The Baptist church organized in 1800 and built a frame church at Kent''s Corners in 1809. When the church split in 1835, the Palmyra group kept the name and the Macedon group moved the church building to Macedon where it is still in use. In 1836 Mary Davis, a black woman joined the church. Frederick Douglas spoke at the church in 24 Aug 1849. This is probably the oldest church building still in use as a church in Wayne County. |
