Bushnell's Burial Place on Lake Road in Sodus  is the final resting place for many of this areas early pioneers. Additionally it includes those who fought in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812 and the Civil War along with several key figures involved in the Underground Railroad. A number of the former slaves that lived at the Maxwell Settlement are also buried here.

Some Historic people buried here:

Ammi Ellsworth fought in the Battle of Sodus Point during the War of 1812 and was a very colorful character.

Ammi Ellsworth  lived between the Point and Sodus village. A tale passed on by local storytellers says that he was one of a pair of identical twins, Ammi and Levi. Ammi, on occasion, partook of the cup that cheers and does inebriate, and when he reached a certain stage of exuberance, was wont to turn to a bystander and say, “Am I Ammi, or am I not Ammi? If I am not Ammi, then who in hell am I?”
