Historic narrative: | |||||
This building was originally built in 1917 as a dedicated Fire Hall for the Marion Fire Company which was comprised of the Hook and Ladder, Chemical Engine and Hose divisions. Prior to 1902 this location had housed two businesses and a home but in 1902 a spectacular fire consumed the buildings. This building had a total cost of $5,000 to build in 1917 with the cost of the building $4,000 and $1000 for the land. The building is of wood frame construction with clay tile covered with stucco on the exterior. The exterior has been modified with new windows after its sale to the Town of Marion in 1958. |
