Historic narrative: |
Organized in 1824 in Lauraville on the south side of the Clyde River, the congregation built a frame church on Sodus St. in 1831. In 1859 they moved the wooden structure to a lot three doors east and erected a brick building on the same site. In 1870 an addition on the front of the church added included two steeples, new staircases and a balcony. In 2018, the church, as part of the Clyde Downtown Historic District was added to the New York State and National Lists of Historic Places.
