ALTON HOUSE - Thursday - December 30, 1926 8:30 - P.M. A meeting was called by Miles F. Shannon for the purpose of organizing a fire company for the Village of Alton, N.Y. It was moved and seconded that Frederick Summers be temporary chairman of the meeting - the motion was carried in the usual manner. A motion was made that all business transacted, all elections made were subject to any changes that might be necessary to conform with the by-laws of the Fire company when such was presented and ratified. A motion was made that O. L. Stacy be Fire Chief of the stated fire company. The motion was seconded and carried in the usual manner. It was moved and seconded that Miles F. Shannon be Assistant Fire Chief of said company - the motion was carried. It was moved and seconded that Edward E. Burns be Secretary and the motion was carried. It was moved and seconded that LaVern Brush be Chief Drive of the Fire Truck - the motion was carried. It was moved that the following be Assistant Truck drivers Roy Palmer Peter Van der Mullan Isaac Berlee - the motion was seconded and carried. It was moved and seconded that Selah Bond be Chief Engineer of all apparatus pertaining to the department - the motion was carried and it was moved and seconded that Earnest Bastian be assistant engineer - it was carried. At this meeting the following were considered as active members and firemen from thenceforth CHARLES BOND GEORGE BRIDGER EDWARD BURNS STEVE CAHOON SID CHRYSLER WALLACE COLLINS OLEN C. FISH JAMES GATCHELL J. DAYTON PITCHER MURRAY RANSLEY DONALD SEAGER FREDERICK SUMMERS WILLIAM STUCCO WILLIAM PARKS and all other heretofore made officers of the company (signed) E.E.Burns . - Sect.
