Historic narrative: | |||||
According to life time resident, Herman DeMay, the first Morse Hill School was built about 1850. It was replaced in 1910 with another school. It was a one room schoolhouse. Grades 1-8 were taught. The new school was open from 1910 until 1937 when it was closed. After 1937 the students east of the school went to the Bell school and the students west of the school went to Williamson. A migrant camp was built on the old school site. About 1986, after it had been a labor camp, it was demolished by Cliff DeMay. Today it is a vacant site.
